The Recipe Center Web Site: A Hands-On Class Project
I have successfully completed both the Introduction to PHP and MySQL, and Intermediate PHP and MySQL online courses offered by ed2go.
In my opinion, these two courses provide a Web site developer with a solid PHP and MySQL foundation. When you learn what these classes teach, you will hit the ground running when you code PHP and MySQL. You will be a PHP and MySQL developer.
In the Introduction to PHP and MySQL ed2go online class, you get hands-on experience coding a dynamic Web site. During this class you create a Web site that is a fully functioning Recipe Center application that interactively uses a database to display changing recipe information on web pages. You will learn how to develop a real-world web application using PHP and MySQL.
You may view my The Recipe Center Web site that I developed during the Introduction to PHP and MySQL ed2go online class. I enhanced my version somewhat, but you will create something very similar as your hands-on class project.
Note: I used a free PHP and MySQL hosting service to demonstrate my The Recipe Center class project. There will be some advertising that appears, please ignore it. I neither recommend nor not recommend any products or services the free host displays. Also, since this Web site was used only to learn PHP and MySQL, I added some rather silly recipes to the database, but there are some pretty good recipes to be found too!
